PALM BEACH COUNTY STUDENTS GAIN ACCESS TO ROBUST INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Business Development Board and CareerSource Palm Beach County connected local talent with local businesses at the second Palm Beach County Internship Expo.

The Expo, held on November 8, 2017, was hosted at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s West Palm Beach campus. Nearly 35 companies with internship opportunities participated with the expectation to hire local talent. Companies included Verdex Construction, ESPN West Palm Beach, City of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Software Design, and Village of Royal Palm Beach.  Over 180 students from Palm Beach Atlantic University, Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Nova Southeastern University and Keiser University registered to gain access to the robust internships available in the county.

The Palm Beach County Internship Expo is the only career resource that is accessible to all college and university students in the county. The idea for the Expo was generated by members of the BDB’s Academic Leaders Council (ALC).  The ALC’s function is to strengthen the partnership between education and business leaders.
