ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD LEADERS

October 23, 2019 – PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – The Business Development Board (BDB), Palm Beach County’s official economic development organization, announced its 2019-2020 Board of Directors, a group of notable leaders positioning Palm Beach County as the top business location. More than 10 of these leaders recently topped Florida Trend’s annual issue, “Florida 500”, a list comprised of the most influential business leaders in the state of Florida.

Tri Cities Award Ceremony

The Tri-Cities Education Committee hosted its 7th annual awards ceremony at Glades Community High School. The committee honored 230 students from Belle Glade, Pahokee, and South Bay who scored a five on their End-of-Course exams. Congratulations to all the winners!

PALM BEACH COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPS TO 3.2 PERCENT; MORE JOB OPENINGS THAN UNEMPLOYED FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Oct. 18, 2019) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for September dropped to 3.2 percent from 3.4 percent a year ago, and below August’s 3.8 percent rate. In addition, for 11 consecutive months, there are more job openings in Palm Beach County than unemployed people – 28,608 job openings in the county in September vs. 23,726 unemployed people, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted).

October 2019, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Business activity in Palm Beach County was prominent in the October issue of Florida Trend, including the surge of financial firms flocking the county, as well as recent companies that have relocated to and expanded in Palm Beach County through the Business Development Board’s economic development efforts. There were also more than 80 companies that invest in the BDB’s economic development efforts highlighted throughout the magazine.
