The cyber security sector is hot right now with high salary jobs available throughout Florida. Here’s what you need to know:
- More than 25,000 cyber-jobs are unfilled in the state of Florida
- Nationwide, there are 500,000 jobs available with an $80,000 average salary
- Florida needs about 20 times more cyber-security graduates than it currently produces
Did you know that Florida Atlantic University is one of nine universities designated as a Center of Excellence in cybersecurity-related disciplines by the Department of Homeland Security and National Security Agency? The university wasn’t only mentioned in the magazine for cyber security. The National Institutes of Health also awarded FAU neuroscientists a five-year, $1.7-million grant to study how inflammation affects neurons and neurotransmission.
Two companies that are supporting the local economy with fresh produce include:
- Retailer Sprouts Farmers Market held a virtual job fair to staff new stores in Wellington, Jupiter and Deerfield beach, each employing about 110 full – and part – time staff
- Fresh Rx created “Farm to First Responders” to provide fresh produce and KN95 masks to health care workers locally. Fresh Rx was co-founded by the owner of Lox Farms, which started at Jupiter Medical Center as a way for cancer, heart, and pediatric patients to receive fresh produce
