SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PBC LEADS STATE IN SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE

Fifty-nine District-operated schools in Palm Beach County have been designated as Schools of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education, making the School District of Palm Beach County the leader in Schools of Excellence in the state of Florida.

The School of Excellence distinction is given to schools that maintain an A or B grade and are in the top 80th percentile of elementary, middle and high schools in the state for at least two of the preceding three years.

The number of District-run Schools of Excellence is up to 59 this year with the addition of six elementary schools: Golden Grove, Hammock Pointe, Meadow Park, New Horizons, Palm Beach Gardens and Royal Palm Beach elementary schools.

“Our ability to not only maintain the School of Excellence distinction, but to add six more schools to the list is truly outstanding,” said Superintendent Donald E. Fennoy II. “We are holding steadfast to the initiatives outlined in the Strategic Plan, and it’s paying off with student success.”
